Review:

OH MY GOD, I am completely shell-shocked.  This book knocked my socks off and completely lived up to my expectations.  I just wish that it wasn’t going to be another whole year until the finale book (although that is quite fast, I’m not complaining).  In this book, I think it is revealed just how far Aelin has grown and thought-through all of her actions.  There are so many things that line up that I didn’t expect to come around, but were amazing to see come together throughout the story.

I love the interactions among the court and everyone they encounter.  There were a few moments that I didn’t totally follow (what’s with Fenrys?), but that could be because I was so eager to read the book.  It will be interesting to see how the characters continue to develop and pull apart in the finale.  My biggest questions are around if everyone is really going to make it through in the end.

All in all, this book was just one more proof that this series is going to be a lasting favorite for me that has set an entirely new bar.

Warning: Contains repeated violence and sexual content.

Rating: 5 stars!
